FAQ
Everything about decants: what they are, how long each size lasts, how to choose, and how delivery works.
About decants
What is a decant?
A decant is a small amount of an original perfume, transferred from the maker’s bottle into a smaller spray vial. It lets you wear a scent on your skin for a few days before you decide on a full bottle.
Is a decant the original perfume?
Yes. A decant isn’t a copy, a dupe or an “inspired by” scent: it’s the original perfume, filled from the original bottle into a smaller vial. Only the packaging is different.
Why buy a decant rather than a full bottle?
A full bottle of niche perfume is a big commitment, and a scent can smell different on your skin than on a paper strip. A decant lets you get to know a perfume over a few days, compare several scents without buying several bottles, and carry a small vial in your bag or on a trip.
Which sizes are there, and how long does each last?
Every perfume comes in 2, 5 and 10 ml. As a rough guide, at three or four sprays a day:
- 2 ml: about 20 to 30 sprays, roughly a week.
- 5 ml: about 50 to 70 sprays, roughly two to three weeks.
- 10 ml: about 100 to 150 sprays, roughly one to two months.
The exact number depends on the sprayer and on how much you use.
Choosing and using
How do I choose a size?
Choose 2 ml to meet a new scent, 5 ml when you already like it and want to wear it for a few weeks, and 10 ml for a favourite you’ll reach for often, or to take on a trip, without buying a full bottle.
How do I choose a scent I’ve never smelled?
Start from what you already love. Each perfume page shows its scent family and its top, heart and base notes, so you can look for families and notes you know you like. Test on your skin rather than on paper, and give it time: the heart and base notes come through after about half an hour and keep changing for hours. A few 2 ml vials are an easy way to compare.
How should I store a decant?
Like any perfume: closed, upright, and away from heat, direct sunlight and humidity. A drawer or a cupboard is better than a sunny windowsill or the bathroom. Stored this way, a perfume usually keeps its character for years.
I have sensitive skin. What should I know?
Perfumes contain fragrance ingredients that can irritate sensitive skin or cause an allergic reaction. Try a little on a small patch of skin first, keep it away from your eyes and from irritated or broken skin, and stop using it if you notice redness or itching. If you have a known allergy, check the ingredient list the perfume house publishes and ask a doctor or pharmacist.
Orders and delivery
Can I give a decant as a gift?
Yes. A few decants make a thoughtful gift for someone who loves perfume: they can discover new niche scents, or compare several, without committing to a full bottle. If you’re not sure of their taste, choose scents from different families.
Can I take a decant on a flight?
Usually, yes. Small vials are well within the usual limit for hand luggage for liquids, which at most airports allows containers of up to 100 ml in a clear bag. Check the rules for your flight before you travel.
How long does delivery take, and what does it cost?
We deliver across Israel. Delivery within Israel is free on orders of 299 ₪ or more.
You’ll see the delivery options for your address, and their cost, at checkout, before you pay.
Can I cancel an order or return a decant?
